This is a hands on review
I use the software described in this blog post daily in my live broadcasts.
I am speaking directly about my experiences. As I explore more, I will revisit and update this blog post.
I am on a journey to discover how to broadcast live to our websites using Content Delivery Networks. CDNs take the video feed from our broadcasting studio and transmit it to destinations we select.
My rating of Switchboard.Live is a follows.
The user interface is intuitive and well designed. Setting up workflows, groups and destinations are straightforward.
Ease of Use 10/10
User Interface 10/10
Low Latency 10/10
I am looking forward to the release of Switchboards own HTML 5 video player. (I bought the Appsumo deal)

How does it work?
The first step is to create a Workflow. Each workflow can have up to 30 destinations for optimum performance.
Next, add to the workflow the destinations you wish Switchboard.live to relay the broadcast to. You can organise the destinations into groups.
Each group is independent; you can go live at any destination in the group or on all of them.
Finally, the workflow holds the RTMP information you need to broadcast to Switchboard.Live
When you broadcast to Switchboard.Live you can then relay the signal to your chosen groups/destinations,
StreamShare - Go Live on your friends social media
Switchboard.live can stream to all your social media destinations; the next step is to ‘borrow your friends social media destinations.
Create a group and add destinations using Streeamshare. A message is sent to your contacts requesting the ability to stream to their social media destinations. They decide which destinations and permit you to use them. You do not need login permissions for the sites.
When you go live on Switchboard, you can select which of your friends’ sites to go live on.
The Streamshare feature is very powerful and an excellent way to increase your audience.
Workflows are organised into groups. One of the groups can be set to autostart.
This means that as soon as you start broadcasting to Switchboard.live, all the destinations in the group you set to autostart will automatically begin broadcasting.
You do not need to visit the Switchboard.Live site. You can just set it and forget it.
When you stop broadcasting, relays to your destinations will automatically stop.
I broadcast 6 times per week from BeLive to Switchboard. When I go live on BeLive, I go live on 9 destinations via Switchboard. It could not be simpler.
Using Autostart with Mobile
I broadcast from my mobile phone and use Switchboard.Live to replay the signal to multiple destinations.
I always had to start broadcasting and set up Switchboard.Live before I commenced my travels. this meant all broadcast had to start from home.
With Autostart I can start streaming wherever I am, there is no need to visit the Switchboard site.
In this video we drove to Stonehenge. I started streaming the signal to Switchboard and it was relayed to Facebook, Youtube. Twitter, Twitch and my websites.
When I stopped broadcasting, Switchboard automatically switched off all the feeds.
